How the Pixels to Inches Calculator Works
Pixels are digital units; inches are physical units. The bridge between them is PPI (pixels per inch). Whenever you know the PPI of a screen or the desired print resolution (often 300 PPI), you can convert: inches = pixels ÷ PPI. For example, a 1200 px wide image at 300 PPI prints as 1200 ÷ 300 = 4 inches wide.
To go from inches back to pixels, multiply: pixels = inches × PPI. Our tool lets you edit either side: change pixels or inches and it updates the other based on the active PPI. Quickly switch between presets like 96, 220, or 300 PPI, or enter a custom value when you know your specific monitor or print profile.
